Meet Greg

Greg Long is everything but your ordinary children’s writer– he draws on a lifetime of unique experiences.  He got an early start in his parents’ backyard, entertaining kids with comedy magic and puppet shows.  He then went big-time to the Big Top.  First attending the prestigious Ringling Brothers’ Clown College and then hitting the road as a circus clown with the world’s largest traveling tented circus.  Greg’s performed at the famous Second City Theater in Chicago, directed an award-winning children’s film, and even composed a collection of silly kid’s songs, but despite all his success, something seemed missing …

Then one dark night– he prayed to God for answers… maybe we shouldn’t call it “praying”… it was more like silent yelling at God.  Greg demanded to know why God was allowing so much pain and suffering in his life.

The more Greg questioned God, the angrier he got.  He began to demand that God reveal Himself and prove His existence… but nothing happened.  Greg was so mad that he just sat in the dark in silence and tried to calm down… and then… IT happened… God spoke to him.

It wasn’t some booming voice from heaven, or a choir of angels.. It was an inner feeling.. the most awesome joyful feeling any man has ever known.  God let Greg know He was always with him, and that the joy he was feeling was always with him too– he just had to “Let go, and let God.”

God has since shown Greg in their joyful silent conversations that He created Greg with all his funny creative talents to be a clown for God– a children’s storyteller who teaches small souls they too can have exciting relationships with God.

Today, Greg lives in Eugene, Oregon with his pack– his wife- Sean Marie, his two sons– Ben & Douglas, and their dog, Lulu.  (Lulu can be found on every page of the book, Today I Found God.)

He is currently finishing up work on his next book– Run For a Reason.
